Coming Home - One man’s return to the Irish Language

By Michael Mac Caughan

‘Some part of me believed I would become a more complete person if I spoke Irish, more in tune with my roots, my identity, my very being.’

‘I was one of the 1.8 million people who claimed to speak Irish … but like most of that cohort I was faking it.

Foireann Scoile Iománaíochta (Rang a 3 agus Rang a 4)

Posted 15/2/2017

Bhí foireann iománaíochta ó Rang a 3 agus ó Rang a 4 ag imirt i mbliotschomórtas i bPáirc An Phiarsaigh Dé Luain 13 Feabhra. D'imir siad i gceithre chluiche agus bhain siad an-sult as an deis sin imirt in aghaidh scoileanna eile. Bhí an bua acu i dtrí de na cluichí sin agus chríochnaigh an ceann eile ar chomhscór. Comhghairdeachas leis an gceathrar déag a d'imir agus leis na múinteoirí a bhí ann leo.

They played in four matches and really enjoyed playing against other schools. They won three of their matches while their other match finished in a draw. Congratulations to the fourteen boys who played and to the teachers who brought them to the blitz.

Posted 17/11/2016

Mar chuid de ghníomhaíocht tiomsaithe airgid na scoile tá muid ag báiliú éadaí neamhiarrtha do Cash For Clobber.

As part of the school fundraising we are gathering unwanted clothes for Cash For Clobber.

Tá gá againn le do chuid éadaí agus bróga (péirí riachtanach!). Ní mór cruth maith a bheith ar na h-éadaí agus iad a bheith glan. Glacfar le éadaí nua nó éadaí athchaite. Tá gach cineál éadach inghlactha. Glacann muid le teicstílí eile ach amháin fannchlumháin nó adhairteanna. (Ná déan dearmad go mbainfear athusáid as gach rud i dtíortha eile tré athchursáil).

We need your good, clean new or used clothing and shoes (pairs only please). All types of clothing are acceptable. We also accept other textile items except duvets and pillows (please remember that by recycling, your items will be reused in other countries).
